We are seeking a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspiring colleague to join our highly regarded and successful English Faculty.  We seek the very best teachers who can consistently teach good or better lessons.  You will be able to enthuse and motivate our students with your passion for English and creative teaching, presence and personality.

English is a high achieving and dynamic faculty.  Results are outstanding and students make excellent progress.  Members of the team are totally committed to ensuring successful outcomes for our students.  At post-16 we currently offer English and Media, very popular and highly successful options for our VI Form students.  The ability to teach to A-level is helpful, but not a pre-requisite for the post. We deliver AQA GCSE Language and Literature and AQA GCSE Media. At A Level we teach the combined AQA Language/Literature andLiterature. In addition, at post 16 we deliver AQA Media.

Camborne Science & International Academy is a friendly, dynamic and innovative school in the heart of beautiful West Cornwall, which affords a high quality of life. The Real Schools Guide 2016 awarded us Best State Secondary School in Cornwall.  We are one of Cornwall’s most consistently high performing state secondary schools.  In an independent survey parents judged us to be outstanding for exam results, discipline, teaching quality, facilities and leadership/management.

Our school has developed exceptional International Science and Mathematics links with top schools in Japan, Singapore, Thailand, China and South Korea.  Recent collaboration has involved joint research projects, International Science and Mathematics fairs and competitions, as well as many significant student/staff visits and exchanges.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in this amazing and unique programme.

We are delighted to have opened the doors to NEXUS, CSIAs Centre of Excellence for STEM and Liberal Arts (PPE). The aim is to develop young learners who are able to pick and choose from the best courses at the very best universities worldwide; young people who have a wealth of research experience from working with some of the best academics in their field of interest. These young people will be amongst those who devise the solutions for the most pressing problems faced by mankind, and Nexus will equip them for this bright future.  For candidates who are able to inspire and challenge the most able, there is a unique opportunity to teach highly engaged and enthusiastic pupils through the bespoke curriculum delivered at Nexus. Nexus is situated on a separate, state-of-the-art campus that provides a unique programme to approximately 200 gifted students with many joining from schools throughout West Cornwall. The programme offers students a chance to thrive and shine in their chosen field of study through a bespoke curriculum. Successful candidates would also be invited to participate in a rich co-curricular programme that complements the curriculum and develops the students so that they are able to achieve their potential. The Nexus campus is also the home of Cornwall School of Maths and Science (CSMS), a specialist provision for VI Form.

Applications from experienced colleagues and Newly Qualified Teachers are equally welcome.  We have an outstanding NQT Induction programme to offer support to new staff.  The person appointed will be given full support in their career development as we believe that development of staff is a key aspect in raising standards for our students.  Camborne Science and International Academy is an Equal Opportunities Employer and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
