We are looking for a self-motivated and proactive Site Supervisor for our Nexus Campus. Nexus is situated on a separate, state-of-the-art campus that provides a unique programme to approximately 200 gifted students with many joining from schools throughout West Cornwall. The programme offers students a chance to thrive and shine in their chosen field of study through a bespoke curriculum. Alongside this specially designed curriculum, students experience a rich co-curricular programme that complements the curriculum and develops the students so that they are able to achieve their potential. The Nexus campus is also the home of Cornwall School of Maths and Science (CSMS), a specialist provision for VI Form.
The Site Supervisor at Nexus will take a pivotal role in maintaining the security, safety, cleanliness and upkeep of the Nexus Campus.
Main duties and responsibilities to include:
• Site Security
• Health and Safety
• Planned and ad-hoc maintenance
• Overseeing the groundsman
• Supervision of the externally employed cleaning team
And contribute generally in supporting the smooth running of the school on a daily basis
The ideal candidate will be able to take the lead on the management of site maintenance related to Nexus, with the ability to be flexible and support school events on evenings or weekends as needed.
We are looking for a self-motivated proactive individual with good observation skills, able to identify and address building defects, as and when they arise. Ideally they will have a level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years post qualification practical experience of building and grounds maintenance. A good understanding of health and safety is important along with manual handling, working at height training and experience.
