Salary/Grade: LP7-LP11 (£47,941-£52,901)
We seek to appoint a well-qualified, dynamic and ambitious teacher and leader to develop students’ literacy across all areas of our academy. This post is an ideal opportunity for an inspirational teacher whose passion is teaching and learning and who enjoys being in the classroom, motivating and inspiring both students and colleagues alike. The successful candidate will bring creative and innovative ideas to literacy; working on raising standards in reading, writing and communication at all levels and ideally have experience of working at whole school level. Candidates will understand the integral role of reading, writing and spoken language in enabling learners to access a broad curriculum and illustrate their understanding in all subject areas. The successful candidate will be relentless in their drive to improve practice across the school and ensure that no learner is disadvantaged because of their ability to communicate. This would be an excellent position for a research-led teacher who is inspired by the work of David Didau and Geoff Barton, as well as other leading practitioners.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant impact in their previous or current roles. This post affords scope for colleagues who wish to progress in their career, and would provide a platform for the next career step to be senior leadership. The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom teacher in their career to date and will display excellent leadership and teamwork skills. They will have presence, personality and the ‘wow factor’.
