Students experience work throughout the County
Wow! What a wonderful job our students did during our work experience week in July! Our current Year 10s have been organising their placements for July 2023, and have been seeking advice and guidance from our Year 11 students on what their placements were like. We also have our Year 12s who are supporting Year 10 in organising placements. In particular, we would like to thank Sam T in Year 12 for talking to students about working at South Crofty and the employment he has had there since his placement in 2021.
Year 12 are organising their placements for June 2023. Students are travelling far and wide, and have been successful in securing VIth Form scholarships to support with their ambitions.
The feedback from the employers about our students was fantastic: they demonstrated great maturity throughout their placements, and many students were offered employment as a result of the way they conducted themselves. All students should be congratulated for their efforts.
In July 2022, we had students at local schools, law firms, architects, restaurants, cafes, gyms, South West Lakes, Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre, galleries, Sloane Helicopters, veterinary centres, the Museum of Global Communications, Studio 4 Dance CIC, Isles of Scilly Steamship Company, surf schools, National Marine Aquarium, golf courses, farms, hair and beauty salons, florists, Software Cornwall, National Trust, hotels, Newquay airport, Gilbert’s Coombe Chiropractic Clinic, engineering, construction, plumbers, electricians, Devon and Cornwall Police, University of Plymouth, Minack Theatre, Hall for Cornwall and many more!
