All students have a Reading Record to track their progress and record their work. English teachers for students in Years 7 and 8 will help students to complete creative tasks associated with their reading and show them how to record their evidence. See ‘Creative tasks for after reading your book’ for a list of the possible tasks.
When a student has read 3 books – completed the associated AR quiz and a creative task they will be awarded with their Bronze Star Reading Badge.
Students will then move onto the Silver Star Reading Badge. This will require them to red 5 more books – complete the AR quiz – produce a creative piece of work based on the book
Students continue following this process through the Gold, Emerald, Sapphire and Ruby Star Reading levels.
Students who acquire all 6 Star Badges will have read a whopping 35 books!
