Suitable for Early Career Teachers

Required for September 2022

Closing Date: Monday 20 June 2022 at 9am

We require a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspiring Sports Science teacher who, in addition, has the ability to teach Science at KS3. Whilst you will be part of the PE Department, the majority of your teaching will be within science for the 2022/23 academic year. This will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain invaluable experience across both faculties.

We seek the very best teachers who can consistently teach good or better lessons. You will be able to enthuse and motivate our students with your passion for science, your presence and personality.

This appointment has arisen due to an increased number of students joining our school both in Year 7 and Post-16. The Science Faculty is a supportive and dynamic department with exceptional staff who, are looking for a like-minded individual to join the team.

At Post-16 we currently offer Biology, Chemistry, Physics and BTEC Human Biology as well as A level and BTEC Psychology, which are very popular and highly successful options for our VI Form students. The ability to teach to A-level is helpful, but not a pre-requisite for the post.

Camborne Science & International Academy is a friendly, dynamic and innovative school in the heart of beautiful West Cornwall, which affords a high quality of life. We are one of Cornwall’s most consistently high performing state secondary schools. In an independent survey parents judged us to be outstanding for exam results, discipline, teaching quality, facilities and leadership/management.

Our school has developed exceptional International Science and Mathematics links with top schools in Japan, Singapore, Thailand, China, South Korea, Canada and Australia. Recent collaboration has involved joint research projects, International Science and Mathematics fairs and competitions, as well as many significant student/staff visits and exchanges. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in this amazing and unique programme.

Applications from experienced colleagues and Early Career Teachers are equally welcome. We have an outstanding ECT Induction programme to offer support to new staff.

*The closing date given is a guide. We reserve the right to close the post early dependent on the number of applications, so we advise you to submit your application early to prevent disappointment. Interviews will take place within two weeks of the closing date.
