We seek to appoint a well-qualified, dynamic and ambitious teacher as a key leader in our Computing Faculty, both at our Main Campus, and at our cutting-edge Facility for the most able students, the Nexus Campus and Cornwall School of Maths and Science. The Nexus Campus is the home of both the Gifted STEM Programme which develops and nurtures the most able students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, and CSMS, which makes provision and enrichment for the most able at Post-16 Sciences and Maths. The Gifted STEM Programme is described as ‘Breathtaking’ by NACE the National charity for able children in education.
This post is an ideal opportunity for an inspirational teacher whose passion is teaching and learning and who enjoys being in the classroom, motivating and inspiring both students and colleagues alike. The successful candidate will bring creative and innovative ideas to the Science faculty and STEM programme. They will be able to demonstrate significant impact in their previous or current roles. This post affords scope for colleagues who wish to progress in their career, and would provide a platform for the next career step to be senior leadership. The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom teacher in their career to date and will display excellent leadership and teamwork skills. They will have presence, personality and the ‘wow factor’.
As well as demonstrating excellent teaching skills, the successful candidate will lead on identified areas. Depending on the strengths of the candidate, these may include whole school or subject specific responsibilities. Successful candidates will innovate,
inspire and engage students and staff in their subject, and will work across both the Main Campus and the Nexus Campus to achieve this.
Computing is a high achieving and dynamic faculty. Results are outstanding and students make excellent progress. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that A-level results are consistently amongst the best in the country.
