Character Education at Camborne Science and International Academy is about who we are and what we do. It is our firm belief that this set of character values form the core of being someone who is a success in all areas of their life and brings positivity to the lives of others. We use these character values as part of our daily language and behaviour. Our praise point system encourages their use throughout the school community. Students are actively encouraged through the Extraordinary Me programme to build their character through a variety of experiences; skills and qualities; and in their study towards their qualifications.
Our values underpin our approach to an excellent educational experience for our students. Every decision we take, from appointing staff, to creating policies and supporting student pathways, is made using these values. The experiences that students have on their Learning Journeys are centred around building character. We encourage all of our students, and their families, to work within these values.
Our character values
I am determined to succeed and be the best that I can be
I am polite, thankful and kind to others. I listen to and encourage other’s opinions. I have empathy for every person’s life situation
I am positive, optimistic and never give up
I am kind to others and kind to myself
I am honest and will do the right thing, even when no one is looking

Association for Character Education
We are proud to be members of the Association for Character Education. We achieve the ACE Kitemark for Character Education in May 2022. We were thrilled for our students and staff as it is an acknowledgement of their day to day conduct within our school community.
What is the Association for Character Education?
“ACE is a not for profit membership organisation. It is a community for schools, organisations and individuals interested in character education to share expertise and practice. The organisation supports schools, teachers and other educationalists to develop and promote character education responses that enable young people and societies to flourish.”
