Salary scale H/I (£21,142 – 30,755) d.o.e.

Full Time and Permanent, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Finance Manager to join our team, providing professional financial support and leading on the day to day finances of the Academy Trust, ensuring that comprehensive and correct financial information is kept and is made available to the Academy stakeholders as well as ensuring that the financial regulations and requirements placed upon the Academy are upheld. The new Finance Manager will be expected to take a hands-on role within the Trust. The successful candidate will be given a varied role within a growing Trust and the opportunity to widen their skill set.

Duties will involve:

  • Actively monitoring and controlling all day to day financial activity, providing timely and accurate monthly management information in the form of budget monitoring reports, cash flow projections and other reports as required
  • Supporting budget holders in the management and monitoring of their individual budgets
  • Ordering, processing and payment for all goods and services provided to the school
  • Production of Academy financial returns to the ESFA
  • Being the first point of contact for statutory and internal audit
  • Line management of Finance Officers
  • Management of school minibus fleet and drivers

The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified/Part qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in finance.  Excellent administration skills are required along with experience of working in a busy office environment; a working knowledge of Academy Year End Accounts is desirable.  With a good standard of literacy and numeracy, the ideal candidate will have the confidence to make their own decisions, possess the communication and interpersonal skills to deal with potentially sensitive issues and will also have a good standard of practical ICT skills. Experience of FMS finance package would be desirable, though training will be provided where appropriate.
