Salary Range: TLR 2c – £6K plus substantial R+R for the right candidate

We are seeking to appoint a Director of Performance – Sport and Elite Athletes to take on a key leadership role in our talented and highly regarded PE, Sports and Dance faculty.

Candidates should be passionate, enthusiastic and dynamic with the ‘wow’ factor.  They will demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities with a proven track record of excellence and impact in their current post.  The successful candidate will be an exceptional PE specialist who is able to inspire, motivate and enthuse students and colleagues, promoting both the subject and its extensive extra-curricular programme.  The successful candidate will be highly ambitious with the aim of ensuring our teams are amongst the best in the county and beyond.

The responsibilities for this post will be to lead and manage our core PE curriculum provision, our extensive extra-curricular programme and to create an inspirational elite athlete programme.  You must be able to coach one or more of our major sports to a high level and have evidence of being a high achiever in your own sporting life.  We would like to hear from candidates with a passion and proven track record of coaching successful teams with the ability to manage and lead fixtures, including on Saturdays and after school.  The key essential criteria for this post will be the ability to demonstrate exceptional passion for all sport and to have the leadership skills and vision to take our sports provision to the next level.

Camborne Science and International Academy is a dynamic and innovative school in the heart of beautiful West Cornwall; which affords a very high quality of life.  CSIA is one of Cornwall’s most successful schools, having been one of the highest performing state schools in Cornwall for the past 4 years.  CSIA is home to the Nexus STEM and PPE programme for gifted students in KS3 and 4 and Cornwall School of Maths and Science in the VI Form. We run a very active Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme with over 200 students involved and field Ten Tors teams each year.
