CSCC Celebrates Record Results Yet Again!

For the fourth year running students, parents and teachers at Camborne Science & Community College are celebrating record results at GCSE and A-level. An outstanding 64% of students in Year 11 achieved 5 or more GCSEs, with a fantastic 45% of students achieving a grade A or A*. The atmosphere on results day was amazing with students literally jumping for joy as they opened their results envelopes!
Many of the current Year 11 students will be returning to the school’s Sixth Form Centre in September. With such an excellent set of GCSE results behind them, expectations are high for their future pursuits in the Sixth Form when they study for their A-levels and seek university places.
Another outstanding achievement at GCSE was made by the Year 10 Fast Track Science Group with all 24 students passing their Double Award Science, with a stunning 20 achieving grade A* or A in their Additional Science GCSE.
In the Sixth Form we celebrated our most impressive set of A-level results to date. Students across the board did extremely well, with the school recording a 98% pass rate at A-level, which is higher than the national average. All students seeking a university place were successful.
Principal, Mr Ian Kenworthy, was delighted with the results and congratulated all students and staff on the tremendous amount of hard work over the last two years which went in to achieving these record results. He was particularly pleased with the results in Mathematics, Science, and Technology which were excellent and reflected the Schools specialist status as a Centre of Excellence for Science and Mathematics teaching.

Ofsted Report 2008

The inspection of Camborne Science and Community College was carried out on 3rd and 4th December 2008 under section 5 of the Education Act 2005.
We are delighted to report that the OfSTED inspection has awarded our school good with many outstanding features. This is a very good report indeed, both for the main school and our Sixth Form Centre, and reflects all the hard work which has been put in to the school by governors, staff, students, parents, carers and our friends and supporters in the local community over recent years.
