The annual CSIA VI Form Christmas Formal dinner and dance took place on Friday 13th December at the Rosewarne Manor. John Ross, Director of Key Stage 5, said “It is fantastic to be able to relax with students and staff after a very focused start to the year, and look forward to a successful new year”.
The evening started with drinks at the bar and conversation on the sofas. Suited and booted young men and glamorous young ladies prepared for dinner after a long week. The obvious focus of conversation was Christmas and what Santa would be bringing the hard working students of the VI Form. There is no doubt that this group deserved to be rewarded for their commitment to their studies.
Rosewarne Manor served up a culinary delight in beautiful surroundings. A mosaic of vegetables competed with sesame coated salmon, ham and chicken terrines and soups formed the starters. Turkey seemed to have the edge on pork, cod, and lentil fritters in the main course; whilst Christmas pudding and cheese definitely got trumped by the mini seasonal deserts. All this was accompanied by conversation, party cracker jokes, the popping of balloons.
With dinner done, the DJ started and so did the dancing. The building shook to the beats of the 80s and 90s with modern crowd pleasers thrown in for good measure. Things became a little more serious when the Macarena came on and the high heels came off.
What a brilliant night.
